Billie Eilish in Stockholm – sustainable city hosting

When Billie Eilish performed in Stockholm in spring 2025, the concerts became more than two sold-out nights at Avicii Arena. Together with the organiser, the City of Stockholm and Stockholm Business Region used the artist’s sustainability profile to highlight Stockholm as a city of conscious experiences, sustainable food and climate-smart choices.

Billie Eilish in Stockholm 2025

When Billie Eilish came to Stockholm in spring 2025, the concerts at Avicii Arena became more than two sold-out music events. The visit also gave the City of Stockholm and Stockholm Business Region an opportunity to highlight a city experience aligned with the artist’s strong commitment to sustainability, climate awareness and plant-based choices. Billie Eilish performed in Stockholm on 23 and 24 April 2025 as part of Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour.

Do Stockholm the Billie Eilish way

Ahead of the concerts, Visit Stockholm launched the guide Do Stockholm the Billie Eilish way, giving visitors and fans tips on how to experience the city in the same spirit. The guide highlighted vegan and vegetarian restaurants, second-hand shopping and sustainable ways to get around Stockholm. In this way, the concerts became a platform for showcasing a city where music, food, shopping and mobility can be connected to more conscious choices.

A citywide visitor experience

The collaboration also focused on activating Stockholm beyond the arena itself. When major international artists come to the city, the impact is felt across hotels, restaurants, retail, public transport and public spaces. By connecting the event to Billie Eilish’s sustainability profile, Stockholm Business Region and the City of Stockholm helped turn the concerts into a broader visitor experience – inviting both fans and local businesses to take part.

Chewie’s Bar and local hospitality

One example was the attention surrounding Chewie’s Bar on Kungsholmen. The plant-based bar and restaurant was asked to arrange a pop-up dinner for Billie Eilish and her crew during their stay in Stockholm. Industry publication Besöksliv reported how the restaurant, known for its focus on natural wines and plant-based food, received the request only weeks before the concerts.

It became a clear example of how Stockholm’s local restaurant scene can meet the demands of international productions when it comes to quality, sustainability and personal hospitality.

Stockholm as a sustainable event destination

For the City of Stockholm, Billie Eilish’s visit became an example of how major cultural events can strengthen a city’s attractiveness while also highlighting values such as sustainability, creativity and local identity. Through collaboration with the organiser and communication via Visit Stockholm, the concert weekend became more than an arena event – it became an invitation to discover Stockholm through food, music and more sustainable experiences.

In this way, Billie Eilish’s concerts contributed to the story of Stockholm as a modern event destination: international, welcoming and ambitious in creating value for visitors, local businesses and residents alike.
