How do we build a city that is sustainable, resilient, and competitive while remaining an attractive place to live, work, invest, and do business?

That is the starting point for Stockholm ImpACT Days 2026, which takes place from September 28 to October 2 under the theme Re:think Cities.

Over five days, Stockholm is filled with activities that explore, in various ways, how the city of the future can be developed. Companies, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, public actors, and organizations come together around topics such as food systems, urban development, innovation, circularity, social sustainability, and the transition of business and industry.

But Stockholm ImpACT Days is not primarily about gathering many events under the same week. The ambition is greater than that. It is about connecting the issues, people, and ecosystems that need each other in order to accelerate the transition.

The programme moves between different perspectives but with a shared direction: to understand the challenges, test solutions, create new collaborations, and find pathways to greater impact.

Key perspectives

Understand the systems

Transition begins with understanding the whole. How do food systems, consumption, resilience, business models, and future growth connect. During the week, these questions are addressed in events such as The Big Meet Summit x Rosendals Trädgård, The Resilient City, and Trend Report. At the same time, From Waste Crisis to Profitable Recycling Industry demonstrates how systemic change can take concrete form through circular solutions in the construction sector.

The city as a testbed

Stockholm is not just a place where transition is discussed. It is also a city where new solutions can be tested, experienced, and developed in practice. In Imagine Stockholm 2060, the sustainable and resilient city of the future is explored, while Young Design, Dialogue & Place-making shows how young people can become co-creators of tomorrow's urban environments. During Innovation Day, the focus is on how proven solutions can move from pilot to wider implementation in cities and municipalities.

From innovation to scaling

Good ideas are not enough. To create real change, solutions need access to financing, partnerships, markets, and pathways to implementation. During the week, entrepreneurs, investors, companies, and public actors meet through events such as Impact Cup Final, Impact Loops' report launch, Norrsken Pitch Night, Resilience Tech X Day, and Innovation Day. Together, they shine a spotlight on how innovation can be developed, financed, and scaled.

Additional key perspectives

Sustainable growth

The transition is also about competitiveness. How can companies and entire industries develop their business models, strengthen their long-term relevance, and at the same time contribute to greater societal value? In From Creativity to Impact, the potential of the digital creative industries to contribute to environmental and social impact is explored. Sustainable tourism focuses on how place development and business value can go hand in hand, while Textile & Fashion brings together actors around sustainable consumption and circular business models.

People and ecosystems

No transition happens alone. Relationships, skills, inclusion, and new collaborations are crucial to creating long-term change. Through Sustainable Progress, SAO jobs, and Designing Places, different perspectives meet on how we build stronger ecosystems, better working life, and more inclusive and attractive environments.
